  1. Your response to the Online Membership Form will be used by Membership Committee (MemCom), to determine the final classification of membership using a Scorecard based on:
    • Professional experience within the ICT industry.
    • Executive and management leadership experience.
    • Organizational size, complexity, and end-user status.
    • Authority over IT budgets and technology strategy.
  2. Currently, there are 4 classifications of Membership as follows:
    • Professional
    • Associate
    • Institutional
    • Fellow
  3. The final classification of membership of the applicant will be communicated to each one by the  MemCom, thereafter applicant needs to signify their final decision to accept or withdraw.
  4. Founder Title – an honorific conferred for life to recognize all the pioneers who helped establish The Institute. They can be regular members or even non-members.
  5. Accepted members will be required to pay the corresponding fees, to be advised, if they have not done so yet.
    • Those who have previously paid and who will decide not to pursue membership with CIO PH will have their money refunded. 
    • Those who have paid and have decided to join  but will be classified as Associates will also get refunded for the excess payment.
  6. All accepted and paid members will then be migrated to a new Official Roster of Members Group Chat on WHATSAPP.
  7. All accepted and paid members will also need to sign the Code of Ethics & Professional Practice and Conflict of Interest (COI) Declaration forms to be provided by the MemCom.
  8. All accepted and paid members will sign the Oath of Membership during the next Quarterly Membership Meetings (QMM).
  9. The Online Membership Form may be revised as required and will be used for future applicants to CIO PH.

The BOT has adopted:  “Once a CIO, always a CIO” as the guiding principle for membership.

A CIO, therefore can be any IT Leader in any organization performing the role of a CIO,  CTO, CISO, CDO, and other variations; ICT Head in a government agency or corporation/enterprise not carrying any of these  titles;   or even a corporate executive like a CEO, COO, Board Director who has  direct IT governance oversight.

The CIO  is being accepted as a professional member based on his qualifications, experience, and leadership merits in any type of organization – private or government, IT vendor / provider or an end-user. Current or prior employer is not a factor.

CIOs PHILIPPINES (CIOPH) is both a professional/continuing education platform as well as a venue for CIOs & other IT Leaders to contribute to the profession in particular but to the Pilipino society, in general.

  3. Common Technical Library:  A repository of technical documents and policies/ templates accessible only to CIOPH members that can be of help to their companies or shared with other organizations and government agencies & LGUs.

  4. Community and Support:  Being part of a professional community provides a forum for sharing experiences, discussing challenges, and learning from others who face similar issues.
    • Through the Committee of Council of Elders, work with experienced CIOs to resolve problems every CIO face i.e.  budget constraint, people issues, technology issues, management issues
    • Background investigation into potential candidates for hiring
    • Vendor Management – sharing of experiences with vendors
  5. Linkages
    • Get introduced to other vendors and organizations (vetted by CIO PH, not necessarily endorsed) that can help member organizations through linkages maintained with the organization

  6. Access to CIO Ph-Maintained  IT Vendors and Suppliers and their contact information and their products
    • Committee on Sponsorships & Partnerships links to maintain a directory
    • Establish a central repository of potential vendors documents where CIO PH member organizations (purchasing group/vendor relations) may need to accredit them
      • Such as GIS, Financial Statements, corporate profile, contact info, list of products handled, etc.
  7. Professional Development/Career Advancement.  Many organizations offer workshops, webinars, conferences, certifications, and training to help members develop new skills and stay current with industry trends. Membership can eventually strengthen resume and demonstrate a commitment to the profession
  8. Leadership Experience:   Serving on committees, organizing events, or holding elected positions allows you to develop leadership, project management, communication, and governance skills.
  9. Professional Recognition:  Organizations often recognize excellence through awards, speaking opportunities, publications, or professional designations, helping build your reputation within the field.
  10.  Advocacy and Influence:  Many professional organizations represent the interests of their members by engaging with policymakers, regulators, or industry stakeholders. Members may have opportunities to contribute to standards, guidelines, or public policy.
  11. Access to exclusive benefits:   Depending on the organization, members may  receive discounts on conferences, certification exams, insurance, software, publications, or educational program.

SPECIFIC & EARLY TANGIBLE BENEFITS:

  1. For Members-Only attendance to at least the 4 Quarterly Meetings of the Institute which features technical updates by chosen hosts / sponsors.
  2. For Members-Only attendance to  conferences conducted by ICT enterprises where CIO PH is an  invited entity – both domestic and foreign entities.  Currently CIO PH is discussing with a Regional proponent for an IT Conference out of the country at no cost to attendees.
  3. For Members-Only attendance to brown bag/Tech Garage sessions being organized by the different committees of CIOPH.
  4. Two sports related sponsorships are being discussed to be attended by CIO PH members – pickle ball and golf tournament – in the months of Sept and October.
  5. Certifications to be given to all attendees of all CIO PH meetings with Technical Updates to satisfy companies’ and government agencies’ need to satisfy Continuing Education/training requirements.

The greatest value comes when members participate actively rather than just holding a membership. Attending events, volunteering for committees, mentoring others and the up-and-coming future CIOs, and contributing to discussions can significantly increase the personal/professional benefits, social involvement/engagements opportunities  and a good neighbor/good professional citizen participations.
